CHOTTO MATTE MENU
Brand Experience · Print Design · Art Direction Role: Art Direction, Layout Design, Graphic Design Tools: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop I redesigned the Chotto Matte menu by drawing on the cultural fusion at the heart of Nikkei cuisine, blending Japanese minimalism with Peruvian vibrancy to create a refined yet expressive visual identity. Concept & Cultural Influence Rooted in the intersection of Japanese and Peruvian culture, the redesign balances opposites: clean structure inspired by Japanese design principles, paired with the rich, energetic colour accents found in Peruvian art. This cultural duality shaped everything from the type hierarchy to the rhythm of the layout. Visual Language I incorporated subtle references to Japanese calligraphic flow, geometric balance, and negative space, contrasted with warm tones and textured graphical elements inspired by Peruvian craft traditions. The result is a menu that visually mirrors the Nikkei dining experience. Harmonious, bold, and unexpected. Outcome The final menu enhances readability while strengthening brand identity, giving diners a tactile, culturally informed experience that reflects the spirit of Chotto Matte’s cuisine and atmosphere.
